Unmilled Siding Blends

UNMILLED SIDING BLENDS

All of our siding blends are milled to equal thickness and width.  We are often asked for an unmilled product.   We can offer our same Custom Siding Blends in an unmilled product.  Though due to the fact that Barnsiding when removed from the barns is a mix of different widths from 2' - 18" and a mix of different thicknesses from 1/2" - 1" when ordering unmilled boards the material will be a range not an exact width and thickness.

Most of our Mixed Wood Siding Blends are milled from larger boards.  This is why larger widths are more expensive.  It may take 4000 Linear Feet of Barnsiding to get 1000 Square Feet of 5" wide Barnsiding. The 5" wide boards may have been cut from boards ranging in width from 5 1/2" to 18". In addition, in order to get one fixed thickness we may have to discard a number of board that are too thin or we may have to mill down boards that range in thickness from 5/8" to 1"  

When ordering Unmilled Mixed Wood Siding Blends such as our Aberdeen, Rushmore or others then depending on supply, you will receive boards that are at the Nominal size specified and up to the next 3 larger Nominal Sizes (see Units of Measure for description of Nominal and Actual dimensions).  We then charge for each width in the order.  Unmilled boards are sold by the Board Foot and not the Square Foot. The boards will also be a range of thicknesses from 1/2" to 1".

Example:  500 Board Feet 1x6 Aberdeen Unmilled may contain up to 4 different sizes.  Each size is priced differently and you will be billed by the amount of material received of each size that is received

1x6  with actual size of 1/2" - 1" x 5 3/8" - 6 3/8"

1x7  with actual size of 1/2" - 1" x 6 3/8" - 7 3/8"

1x8  with actual size of 1/2" - 1" x 7 3/8" - 8 3/8"

1x9  with actual size of 1/2" - 1" x 8 3/8" - 9 3/8"
