Hand Hewn Beams are probably the best representation of history in reclaimed wood. These are beams that were cut by hand not machine. Generally a special tool called and "Adze" was used to hewn the beams one small piece at a time. E&K obtains most of its beams from barns, factories and other old structures.
Coloring ranges from light brown sandy tones to dark browns. Beams that have been exposed will turn gray in color. We offer Rough Sawn Beams as solid or box beams, finished or unfinished and in a variety of species and sizes. Beams are sold by the beam and priced by the board foot.
Price includes beams beams being cleaned, denailed and touched up in areas of damage.
We also offer a light finishing to bring the beams to be more similar in color. Our artisan finishing team can do a very light finish of either Natural Grey or Natural Brown, so that all the beams look similar in coloring though they will still have different hues and tones of greys and browns on each beam.
